HG3 the era of quad variable pitch has begun!

Particolare%20passo%20L.jpg

Multipilot Board support Hg3 Variable Pitch Mega Quadcopter actualy I'm implementing the support of HG3 (Variable Pitch Quad) to new Arducopter firmware. The last flight had doing with Aeroquad 1.5

This is last post from Pipposoft as lot of work this is a new version of HG3.2 Variable Pitch Propeller.

Between job and family commitments
although slow, here's some special preview of the new HG3 V2 ...
... To see it looking good, but ... fly?
leaving us with this doubt, all for now.

We are happy that the project HG3 you enjoyed. @Chris Thanks for the opportunity you have given us to introduce our project and the opportunity to participate in the Core of Arducopter DevTeam. HG3 came first to know this community and in the future thanks to your support we can do even better. Yes our idea is to try different kind of engine as nitro or turbine to be used for long duration and high lifting power. This is the reason because we improve the frame of HG3 with the new revision HG3.2 .
So now a prepare a document to reply to all your questions .. about the trasmission motors , vibration and electrionic we are doing a lot of job to solve lot of problem :)

A speed governor is used in heli to tackle this issue but don't know how this being tackled by Redfox.

Thats really nice :) I am just wondering about something and perhaps someone could answer me.
Since the quad has only 2 engines the RPM can only be changed on the two pairs of props. I was wondering that when the pitch is changed would rotation would slow due to the extra forces due to pitch? so wouldn't this be a problem for only 2 engines, or the fact that the pitch is changed on the 2 opposite sides would allow this to be avoided? Or is the slowing of the rotation rate not taken into account as its acting on opposite sides?

I am guessing that this is not really a problem since the quad seems to fly just fine

gr8 possibility to break out from current size limits :) . thank Redfox team for sharing . Fox however needs to change to red ( it looks brown :)) )
  • I'm liking the variable pitch idea... nice stable flight in your video... but it needs to be bigger!
  • great work, it"s really stable in the video but, you may want to turn down the gain just a little bit because i can also see some oscillation. also can you document it more? I would really like to know how you got the power system to work, thanks
  • Pedro, It is really feasible to make a giant Quad, using a single powerful petrol engine and use your power transmission system passing through each arm of the Quad.

This allows a nitro engine to be used for long duration and high lifting power, right?
  • Great efforts Pedro !
  • superb !
