  • @Klaus The most common issue is not having the iDroneLink on the same netID as your drone.  You can see instructions on how to change the netID here:

    Most drones ship with a default netID of 25, but if you have an IRIS+ it is most likely not 25.  You can find details on finding your netID here:

    have a 433 MHz (Europe) version ordered IDLITP433HR1 iDroneLink (433MHz) (and today received in Germany, program (app) but on my Ipad Air installed system fitted to bind to. What am I doing wrong? (Ipad reports joiner by a signal )

  • @Povl There are many solutions that can be hacked together for much cheaper than the iDroneLink, but many people are looking for the ease of use and reliability that they experience with Apple products and the connected ecosystem.  

    The iDroneLink provides an easy to use HW/SW solution for a ground station for your iPhone or iPad.

  • It all sounds great, but I think the pricing is too high. Personally I am more interested in either:

    ESP8266 + Arduino nano for a small WiFi <-> serial connection = $7. Would require me to hack my chinese 433MHz radio to get serial out before the TTL<->USB onboard. Or get another $12 "receiver" and use at ground.

    Or get a Raspberry Pi for the bridging. $35 + WiFi or Bluetooth for $3. Run MavProxy or something like it. Would allow me to log all MavLink messages to the SD card.

    Would be happy to pay $10-$20 for a good app that would support this.

    DroidPlanner on Android is another option. You can get a decent Android tablet for $100, the price of your solution. And then use the USB stick there.

  • Flight planning on iPhone is something we have been focused on and is in the pipeline for one of the upcoming releases.  We have tried several approaches, but getting a satisfactory solution on the smaller iPhone 5 screen has been a major challenge.  Today we released a new version of the iDroneCtrl app, and we will continue to quickly iterate and improve the functionality of the app.

  • I have one. It works, but I cannot use t on my iPad 2. So I cannot do flight planning with it. Thats my only disappointment. I am not going out to by a new ipad just to use it. I wish that they kept the 30pin connector version. 

    Other than that its great. it works as advertised on my iPhone 5s.
