As some of you may know, I have been working on a GCS for iOS devices called iMavlink.

It is currently in its final stages before release, but I would really like to have some beta testers to squish the final bugs.

If you are interested, I am currently selling the BLE Device that accompanies the app for $60 on my store.

This device is required for the app to work, you can create your own, however I cannot guarantee that it is supported. (If you do DIY, let me know if it doesn't work on the http://imavlink.com forum and I'll do what I can to implement support for it.

The app will be selling for $5.99 USD, however it will be free for the first 4 purchases of the BLE Repeater for beta testing purposes!

Thanks guys, please let me know if you have any questions! I have a website for the app at http://imavlink.com

Features:

  • GPS Location of drone
  • Set, edit and delete waypoints
  • Arm/Disarm
  • Display VFR information such as yaw, pitch and roll.
  • Voice alerts for mode changes and other important information
  • Edit Parameters
  • Log flights for future reference
  • GPS Status of drone
  • Distance from home/device
  • Battery voltage display and warnings
  • Calibration of battery monitor and accelerometer
  • Light and Dark themes
  • Manage multiple BLE Repeaters
  • And many more

Cheers!

  • Hi guys, just an update that I have now got a version that supports UDP connections. I need some beta testers to see how well it works. Please email me at tom@imavlink.com for beta access.

    Thanks!!

  • Hi Euan,

The app only supports Bluetooth 4.0 Low energy, as the crossfire uses an older Bluetooth system it won't be supported.

    Thanks, Tom
  • Native connectivity via bluetooth as well, for us crossfire users. I assume that since this is bluetooth anyway, a native connection direct to Crossfire is supported?

  • Thanks Tom. As the others have suggested, having UDP connectivity would be a huge bonus! This is the way things are going. My systems use a UDP connection from GCS to UAV.

  • Correct Steve, It is not capable of UDP connections at the moment, however if you connect a radio telemetry module to the solo, it should be able to connect then.

    Thanks
  • Hi Tom best of Luck with Imavlink!

So as you know now, this isn't ready for 3DR Solo?

  • Hi Stephan, I have not yet looked into that, however it should be possible, I may give it a go one the current app is worked out. Thanks for the suggestion!
  • very nice!

Will it work also with 3DR Solo by connecting via UDP into the Slo Wifi network (analog to what Tower does on Android, or MP on Windows?

  • Thanks Glenn, please email me at tom@imavlink.com

    Cheers!

  • Looks good Tom. I'm keen to test, how do I go about getting the app? I already have a ble bridge that should be suitable
