Italian Enthusiasm - Above the Clouds Drone

I want share with the community my last goal achieved with an old Multiplex Easycub , APM2, Arduplane 2.6.8, 3DR telemtry 900 mhz, Airspeed sensor and a still not working Attopilot 90A.
A great flight above the clouds after some unsuccessfull flights ( i have lost an easystar with gopro and APM2 still dont know why)
I still have to tune the Nav Roll P for better videos but i am sure you will like it.
Also if i never wrote on the forum it was very helpful for me and i am ready to share all my tests with other people who is starting with drones.

    Just some technical questions.
You said you used for the telemetry the 900MHz module, can you use this kind of frequency in Italy?
Because i'm going to buy an APM with telemetry module but I don't know what can I buy!
What's your feedback about the module?
What is the range? Is the 3DR module?
  • Thanks everyone for your feedback.  I guess I didn’t convey my point very well.  I don’t know what the rules are in Europe and they have little to do with me, but again these videos are used in the USA to support further regulations against out-of-site flight and other UAV flying.  A great example is the octo that crashes into a parked car right in front of a crowd of people(I can’t find it on YouTube now).  It happened in Japan (I think) but was on the news for 2 days when they were talking about further FAA regulations.  Are there other private pilots that see the danger in this activity?  I’m not here to police the site and only requested to take the video down.  Enjoy your high altitude flying!!

  • Commenting as a Drone pilot and not as a moderator.  That is some amazing video.  I got the same thrill seeing yours as I do in flying my aircraft.  It is like touching the face of God.

  • Very nice!  But is 900Mhz ok per ETSI in EU?

  • Thank you All

    @Pela Stark

Near Biella ! write me , we can share some info.

  • Congratulations on reaching this goal.

Don't worry about the FAA, last time I checked the FAA do not care what we do in the free world (Europe).
  • Marco - Wonderful video - Keep up the great work :)

  • Cre8it, you might want to check your ignorance at the door - the poster isn't even in the US - The FAA has no oversight within his airspace.. And I think we're all in agreement that the FAA is busy with more important issues, instead of sitting around watching youtube..

Italy just put up it's UA rules for discussion http://www.suasnews.com/2012/12/20426/draft-rpas-regulations-for-it...

  • Cre8it, really - honestly - not every flight above the clouds is an FAA issue. Go police somewhere else!
