Dear friends, I would like to introduce you the RTKite GNSS RTK L1+L2 module receiver.

Designed specifically for Pro and Semi-pro UAV, Robotics and Industrial applications, it connects directly to the Pixhawk and other autopilots and is specific for millimetric Photogrammetry, LIDAR Scans, Themography, etc.

The RTKite is a full Receiver (not a basic GNSS board) with an internal OS that can connect directly to standard CORS stations with its embedded GSM/GPRS cellular modem, can be configured and operated by Bluetooth, COM or TTL communications and can be set with our freeware for Android, Windows PC or WindCE or Linux, or even with text string commands.

It also can receive and transmit RTCM or CRM correction signals by UHF radio or our unique AutoCaster system that allows direct link connection by the integrated mobile modem with an stable transmission range of 75Km on Fixed position.

In is in fact a miniaturization of our professional surveying RTK receiver SmaRTK, (first generation released on 2012), and is compatible with our unique AutoCaster system for direct Base to Rover cellular data link.

  • Dear Bernardo,

RTKite indeed looks like a very promising commercial grade RTK solution. I have a few questions regarding it:

    - The datasheet mentions sampling rate upto 10Hz and 150Hz event log. Could you explain more about what do you exactly mean by event log here and what is it's utility?

    - When you mention that,
"the position is log at the exact moment that the shutter operates, without any delay ",
as the GPS clock time(1,5,10Hz) is much lesser, is this faster logging a repetition of the last recorded GPS data? Or some kind of extrapolation or other methodology is used to estimate the position at the time of logging?

    Thanks!

  • Dear Srinivasan, good day!

Actually we checked the Tersus unit side by side with one of our customers and I think they are fine receivers but not for the same type of customers we aim to, that need zero R+D and full support, including customization. FYI this same customer is on Defense market and is not integrating the RTKite.

Regarding your question on Shutter Sync, this is already included of course and quite simple to set by different means, i.e.: connecting the Hotshoe of the camera flash to the RTKite, the receivers captures Instantaneously*** the camera shutter and logs the NMEA string on that very moment, ans then is a simple correlation VS the captured pictures and the log of Trigger positions.

***Instantaneously means that the position is log at the exact moment that the shutter operates, without any delay and fully independently of the refresh rate set on the RTK (1,5,10Hz) and is equal, to put it simplistic, to 100,000Hz.

In short, there is no need to do any customization.

I would like to invite you to the new online order system for integrators at: http://www.gnssrtkmodule.com/ and also you can visit the RTKite details here: http://northsurveying.com/

    Cheers!

  • Hi Bernardo !!

I did a small research and even compared RTKITE with entire tersus and finally I realized that RTKITE has good amount of addo-ns than any other mid-high level RTK GNSS receivers. And finally the only one thing that bugs me to raise this question ..

Is camera shutter synchronization option available in RTKITE?? if not can you customize it and give it for us?

  • Hello! We have started our online store aimed mainly to the GNSS RTK System-on-Module receiver RTKite.

It can be order directly on the website and all its concerning support information will be released there.

As always, you can contact directly for help on your integration or customization projects. All our other instruments will stay published on the main corporate website.

    Welcome! www.gnssrtkmodule.com

  • Hello Emin, we are working on a wide array of project with costumers of several kinds, some of them will hit the news soon and we'll publish them here, but feel fee to contact us if you need to integrate RTK on your devices: www.northsurveying.com

    Best!

  • Thanx again....any news?

  • Of course, and if you need anything from us, just let us know.

We won't work with L1 RTK due to the systemic limitants on the batch signals, it is not for the public that we serve. Goo d day!

  • its out of my price range anyway

will look forward for U-blox solution

  • @Emin Bu

Welcome. The price list with every possible permutation along with other instruments is available at a website exclusive for integrators, if you drop us a line at emea@nortgps.com we can give you access immediately.

The Tersus receiver seems a good unit (we haven't tried yet, and most likely will not) but is based on a well know chinese board so should be fine. However if you compare side by side the datasheets, you will note that the receivers are very different, mainly because the design approach or intented market is different.

The RTKite has 444 GNSS channels, Bluetooth, SD Card, integrated mobile modem, remote LED indicators, backpack UHF radiomodem, runs on a self configuring OS, self connection to CORS Stations, Broadcast of RTK corrections by UHF or Mobile modem, and is setup app remotely in the field.

The Tersus Has 192 GNSS channels, and none of what I have just mentioned.

It is a comparison between a barebones GNSS board and a full GNSS RTK receiver, and that is mainly the price difference. So the choice would depend on your needs and integration skills. We are not on the business of barbones receivers, so we don't produce them.

Also, if you need customization of hardware or software, we will be very happy to help you eventhough that you only buy 1 unit.

  • ok thanks for answer.. why don't you have a price list somewhere?

Is this similar to this solution?
