The Micro HKPilot Mega master set is a complete open source autopilot and flight controller system featuring matched hardware, cables for a Micro plug-and-play UAV control system.

The new micro Master set total weight is just 23.5g and all components can fit in a 35x35x30 cube, for the smallest UAV total solution available. Perfect for mini MultiRotors and Park UAV missions.

The HKPilot is based on the rapidly evolving and refined Ardupilot mega or “APM”, an open source project from 3DR robotics. This amazing flight controller allows the user to turn any fixed wing, rotary wing, or multi-rotor vehicle (even boats and cars) into a fully autonomous vehicle, capable of performing a wide range of tasks even programmed autonomous missions with waypoints, with the included micro high precision NEO-6M Ublox GPS.

Various user interfaces are available for programing, reviewing logs, setup and even some Apps for smart phones and tablets. The included telemetry radio, OSD, power sensor and GPS allow for full two way radio communication, giving you full control and provides live data back to your computer or tablet. The list of what this flight controller is capable of has quickly surpassed what it cannot. Feature rich settings, flight modes and supported platforms have made this the go-to UAV controller.

The HKPilot Mega Micro master set includes: The NEW Micro HKPilot Mega 2.7.2, the super precision Micro Ublox NEO-6M GPS module with integrated compass, Micro telemetry radio with built in PCB antenna and ground module for bi-directional data, 4s 60A PDB/BEC/ power sensor Module, Micro minim OSD for FPV feedback, complete matching cable sets for a plug-and-play experience.

This product is based on the open source APM Project from 3DR Robotics, the Cad files per the creative commons license are available under the files tab. The APM project is supported by thousands of users pushing this open source flight controller to be one of the best systems available.

So with the APM at the end of its life cycle as far as software support is concerned i do think its great we're getting these variants but how many will they really sell i wonder?

  • Hi, I need some help. I am using the hk micro 3.1 and is working great after some major pid adj. What im having a problem with is the MICRO osd. I have it connected to the telem port to micro osd----then to camera and transmitter. The red light on the osd stays on just like it is not talking to the micro apm. dont know if i need to change anything in mission planner conf. There is NOTHING anywhere. Frank
  • just got of a chatting with HK the said it the solder blobs noted in the instructions are not connected just connect the center and left for ppm/cppm, has someone done this? thank you, Tj

  • Has anyone tried to power this board from a UBEC?

Can I power the receiver through a UBEC(5v) and power the FC from the receiver?

Or can I connect the two VCC inputs together and connect the two GND inputs together in PM socket using a 6pin jst connector and connect those two to the UBEC???

I don't want to mess up with the jumpers on the board. And also I don't have a power module.

  • Wow...what a piece of c r a p this GPS is.

    The worst I've ever seen.

    9 Sats locked...sitting outside for 3 hours...clear sky...open surroundings.

    1.9 HDOP....W T F!!!

There has to be a firmware update, it can't be this bad??  can it?

Anyone successfully get this working properly?

    or flashed new firmware?

  • Where to buy JST SH connectors for this Mini APM, please?

  • Anyone know if you can solder an external antenna to the micro telemetry module?

Looks like it has 2 solder points on the other side of the integrated antenna.

  • The micro APM is fine for most casual users. I doubt you need terrain following, or 700 waypoints, or the SD Card for easy log retrieval. There are other advantages, but nothing needed on a fun flyer.
  • Would you recommend MiniAPM/MicroAPM or Pixhawk Lite for fixed flying wing? I already have standard size APM 2.5. But would like to have lightweight setup for lightweight airplane I have aroun 750grams including battery. Is there any flight difference between APM and Pixhawk from user point of view for airplane? http://www.goodluckbuy.com/px4-pixhawk-lite-v2-4-5-32bits-open-sour...

  • Rebuilt my quad after the crash. Some build notes here:

2nd flight outside test flights, over the cliffs

  • I just used the neo7 GPS on the APM. It's a straight swap as it uses 6 wire. 9-11 satellites is easily locked. It holds position well even during high winds. I am testing for high wind performance of a new frame, unfortunately I had a crash towards at the end of the test.
