Pipo ISU - a new IMU/MCU board

Hi guys,

I've been hard at work making a small, single board hardware platform for stabilization/autopilot purposes.

The board is very small.  Currently it measures 1.5"x1.1" (39mm x 28mm).   It runs a 16Mhz Atmel Atmega328p.

Also, included on board are a 3-axis mems gyro, 3-axis mems accelerometer and a 3-axis magnetometer (no in the picture above).

Input voltages are 5v-16v.

The board can see use up to 16 I/O ports for PWM (in/out), external modules etc...

There's also a I2C header for external I2C units.

The alpha boards are already running a cut-down DCM code:

I'm planning to implement fist a version of the Ardupirates code.

If you're interested in one of these please drop me a line here or via email (erezraviv@gmail.com)

    Please jump aboard.

  • I'm on it ; )

  • Far from it.

    I'd appreciate it!

I want more people on it.  I think this can be a great micro-autopilot unit.  The more ppl the better :)

    Thanks!

  • Would you mind if I start thread about this on RCgroups?

I think it could help it along, and it could help others along.

  • Thanks,
I'm working hard to get the full specs out and ready.
The picture shows the "v1" board which has 6 inputs and 6 outputs. The "production" board has 8 inputs and 8 outputs.

The gyro is L3G4200D, accelerometer is ADXL345, Magnetometer is HMC5843.

I'm busy assembling boards at the moment. Waiting for the HMC5843 to be available. Seems they are really tough to get a hold of.

As for the FW. I'm porting a version of Ardupirates right now. I hope to have the repository up sometime later today.

I must say the response is very very encouraging. The v1 (alpha) board works very very well. I hope to have a video of it flying a Quad next week.
  • I really like the small form factor of this board. What is the full specs of this tiny little board? I see six in and out servo connectors, is that right? Could you please elaborate on the rest of the ports available?
  • Oh that's cool. I have been reading through the threads on RCgroups regarding the 9x and the custom firmware. I will update to your firmware soon ;).

I see you are now putting your energy into drones etc. :)

  • Yup, that's me :)

  • Very cool!

You're not the same Erez that did the work on ER9x are you?

  • an lpc11xx would be the better choice as mcu.

at least it looks very nice.

and you can anyone in terms of performance.
