I've ported MinimOSD to Remzibi's hardware

3689448888?profile=originalHello everyone. Recently I port the MinimOSD to the Remzibi OSD's harware, so a poor man can enjoy MinimOSD's convenience now (no need to modify APM's software anymore).

Because of the limited flash space of Atmega16, the code of OSD is slightly changed, and it is not compatible with Michael's original config tool. So I adapt the config tool as well.

The Remzibi's OSD uses Megaload bootloader, so please use the Megaload programmer to upload the firmware. (The config tool can also upload the firmware, but I have to admit that it is not quite good right now.)

Anyway, here is the firmware and config tool, and here is the source code.

Thank binzi for providing the hardware.

Just tested again trying to get you a tlog or log but it now works fine with APM2, last time it bootlooped but this time it reboots and then shows the OSD with APM2 armed. Not sure why but great, it does work with APM2!

    Good one!

  • Hi Dyer, a tlog file will be helpful. Please send to my email (hazyhxj@gmail.com), thank you.

Hi Hazy, any further news on getting this to work with APM2, can I send you a log or help in any other way?

  • @Affonso: You can follow the tutorial of ArduCAM at this moment. Everything is same except uploading the firmware. I may write a document later. However, according to Dyer's report, it seems there are some issues in my code when connecting with APM2. I cannot confirm them right now since I have APM1 only.

Anyway, you can recover the original Remzibi's firmware if something is wrong.  So don't be afraid. Just be careful to do enough test on the ground before you fly.

  • great thread!

i'm new on uav world, got my APM2 a few weeks ago and my remzibi arrived today, bought at goodluckbuy.com. Can you make a step-by-step tutorial to help a little? i was thinking about flying with only the remzibi while i make simulation tests with apm, but everything is already working fine on xplane, maybe i can put everything together right now.

but i'm affraid of doing anything wrong, got apm2 and its airspeed sensor from 3dr, current sensor from flytron and remzibi from goodluckbuy.com, already noticed that the best options would be buying current sensor from attopilot and miniminOSD instead of remzibi.
  • Excellent!I tried APM1 with Arduplane2.27.It works. No sattelites count only,I think it is because I'm using ublox GPS.It would be good to show current consumption in mAh.Thanks for this big job.

@Hazy... WTF??? LOL. It needs a patent: "BGA Hair". =)

I like having the info coming from APM and using 1 GPS, so far I've been flying with 2 GPS's because it's not easy to get APM to talk to Remzibi's OSD.

  • @Sandro: I forgot about input port. Then I guess a soldering genius my do this :)

  • " isn't MinimOSD cheaper than a Remzibi" Exactly this is the reason I want to run remzibi software on  MinimOSD, for the cases when two voltages and GPS are enough, and no other sensors are required.
