We are happy to announce you the launch of our Smartplane drone campaign on kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/745804289/smartplane/video_share

Smartplane is a customizable  drone plane  with Software Development Kit (SDK), and with modular Hardware compartment. You can directly connect 3rd party hardware and start writing applications with SDKs. This enables you to create your own aerial projects and not to worry about the aeronautical and electronics aspects on a drone. Smartplane flies 80 minutes. It can carry your payload up to 300gr when it's simply plugged onto it via USB or Ethernet port.

Numerous drone development activities show the clear interest in the market. However, we saw that most of the attempts fail to achieve an acceptable flight dynamic. Be it flight time or payload, it just didn't make sense to us to have a device that only flies below an hour and even less with the payload. On the other hand, the ones that achieve satisfying flight dynamics were ridiculously expensive. We have engineered and designed Smartplane with performance and cost effectiveness in the center of thought. Be it advanced materials or efficient structures, we are striving for a long endurance and powerful drone –affordable by everyone!

Do you have an aerial project? Develop and fly it on Smartplane! Or just select an existing option from the hardware store.

Naturally each phase of the development, prototyping and manufacturing a drone in serial production, requires a lot of resources. As we constantly look for investors, we have now launched our kickstarter campaign. Looking forward to your support! Please share with those who could be interested…

  • Yes sure, the Ebee has a yellow leading edge.

    And now eBee:

Good luck at convincing 66800 DIY drones users that those 2 planes are different.

  • It does look a lot like the eBee ........

  • Gary Mortimer naish88 This is different airframe, different flight characteristics and for different purposes.

I think copying the clever eBee wing mount was not cricket either.

  • Andrew Tridgell We use modified ArduPilot code complementary to our own codes. We will make public the changes we have made on the ArduPilot code parts as soon as we finish our development

  • I always like young companies pushing out innovation and I love kickstarter, but this time I will not support this campaign. What you guys done is not Innovative, is called stealing other peoples/companies ideas and claiming that yours. I'm sure that the guys have quite a lot of skills and ideas, so my question is why coping?

Your smartplane, is a 99% copy of the sensefly Ebee and I'm sure that Parrot lawyers will nock at you door soon, and  you won't be able to deliver your planes to your backers.

The " Custom" autopilot you use is based on arduplane, and I did't see any credit given on your website to all the people that had made that become a " powerful ad reliable " autopilot as your claims.

If you want to create a good product and been able to sell your idea on kickstarter, then you need to convince the crowd that you are an healthy a genuine company. I can guarantee that you are doing that wrong.

I wish best luck to all the people that will choose to risk their money on your Kickstarter campaign.

I'm glad you've found ArduPilot useful. Can you please post the changes you've made? I assume you are aware that ArduPilot is released under GPLv3 and what that means about your obligations?

    Cheers, Tridge

We have developed custom more powerfull algorihtms for the flight control designed for our needs,we have also used some codes from Ardupilot as well,It is very nice that ArduPilot has pioneered a great job.

  • We are using reliable, powerful custom autopilot, Airplane comes with user friendly SDKs.

So you're not going to mention you are using Ardupilot as clearly seen in your video where you show the code?

I agree, it's reliable, powerful and... could be called custom.  But credit where it's due please.

You're using ArduPilot. We appreciate the compliments and that you like ArduPilot, but it would be appreciated if you would acknowledge it, not try to claim you wrote it.

The video you posted shows screen shots of your software engineers editing the ArduPilot landing code. That is code that Tom, Michael and myself wrote.

We are very happy to work with vendors like yourself who are using ArduPilot in their products, but please treat the ArduPilot dev team with a little more respect.

    Cheers, Tridge
