With VR Micro Brain 5 is possible to develop very light , only 9 gr , fully autonomous drones , in last months i developed different kind of prototype the main targets was :
- Very light platform only 439 gr.
- With support of micro brushless gimbal 150 gr.
- Support of automatic fly support with high reliability after a lot of test i developed new kind of technology :
- a new GPS : VR GPS 8 based on new generation of Ublox 8.
- a new VR Leash a device for full control of drone in very simple way.
- a new VR micro gimbal 2-3 axis based on nuttx OS with native mavlink support.
- My last target is a long time flight , the first revision of micro drone flew for only 8-10 minutes , now with last updates , new custom motor propeller and battery our time of flight is 27 minutes :)
This is the video of early version of new frame for long time of flight , need to solve some vibration problem i doing all test using EKF and APM Copter 3.2rc12 all work very well.
The next week will be present the new very nice and light frame for our Micro Brain from VR Mechatronic Lab :)

+1 looks great! Can't wait to see some more. 18650s would be awesome if they would work with the C rating.
This is very impressive, especially given the fact that most small copters hardly break the 10 minutes mark and the smaller ones almost never include BL gimbals. 40 minutes with 18560 Panasonics on this kind of size would be an amazing first!
Hi Gary,
my work is in direction of able to use 18560 . During my test i doing some test with 2200 lipo ma during that test i obtain 100 ma / minute so at that point i can obtain 6000 mah /h that are compatible with 2C requirement that we have on liion battery.
If we can have a 3840 mah battery at same weight of 2200 mah lipo we can increase the time of flight until 40 min with same configuration .

Hi Roberto,
Really excellent results.
For a long time now I have been expounding about the benefits of small quadcopters.
Aside from the portability and cost, the likely reduced regulatory barriers make them most important for the future.
I am very happy to see you have achieved such excellent results.
And am very much looking forward to seeing more detailed information about your little Quadcopter.
Using 18560 lithium's by any chance?
I notice your site doesn't list the VRX 300 frame, is it available?
Best,
Gary
Hi ,
the propeller are 9 and the motor is custom I'm testing different option from 800 - 1200 kv ...
The drone is the same that i'm using during the follow me VRX300 with an update on tail for support 9 Inch propeller .
