In this video you can see the first fly review of VRBrain micro 5.0
In this test you can see the great quality of new magnetometer and gps . Emile doing an automatic fly . Set by VR Pad Station 3 waypoint , the last is an RTL . The drone take off from Emile's hand then land exactly in same position :) Emile don't move from his position during all the automatic fly test :)
Dear Friends,
I worked hard in recent weeks to test the new micro VRBrain 5.0
To test the card I used the frame I called our "Personal Robot SDK Fly" The configuration I used for testing and 'the following:
Frame VRX AV250 with Prop Guard
- Micro VRBrain 5
- VR GPS Ublox LEA 6
- 4 10 Amp ESC with Firmware SimonK
- 4 2400 KV Brushless Motors
- 4 Carbon Fiber Propeller dda 5 inches.
- 1 Battery 2200 Mah
- Receiver Futaba SBUS R7008 SB.
- Transmitter T14SG.
During the tests I carried out flight tests and reliability in a stable manner. I flew in different boundary conditions without having any kind of reliability problem. I made flights in both indoor and outdoor.
End the tests with flight manual I started the automated flight test . The GPS took our new GPS VR GPS uBlox LEA6, the main feature of this GPS and 'to have on board the new sensor HMC 5983 with automatic temperature compensation and more accuracy and immunity to electromagnetic interference.
In the tests we performed automated test of loiter mode, hybrid loiter, return to home and waypoint navigation.
Given the excellent results of the tests we have decided to close this firmware revision of the first software will be installed on the cards that will come over the next week.
More info about the components of the test are available here:

Hi Roberto,
For me it's not quite clear if I can use the same special Arduino IDE as for the Ardupilot for the VR Brain Micro.
When do you plan to sell the VRX AV250 frame for an experimental quad platform for which Price range?
Thanks for your Information
Hans Jakob
Hi Micha,
I agree with you , In last event doing in italy organized by Marco Robustini , some great guys that normally fly with 250 class quadcopter see VRBrain micro in action and decide to help us for a good acro video :) So i think that in some days we can have a good video about fpv and acro race ,too Actually some group use VR Brain as data logger for speed race test ... In the test with VRBrain a guys log until 105 km/h on AV250.

Nice videos Roberto. Maybe a video in acro mode would be useful from a marketing point of view. I see the micro vr brain as one of the first alternatives based on ardupilot for pure acro mode on small copters. Until now, boards like CC3D, Naze32 or KK are the common choices for that purpose as the APM or Pixhawk are to big and heavy.
great work roberto!
you micro board seem to be a great fc and a real beast with arducopter code on it!
i am waiting you vrbrain 5.0 i hope it will be ready in few weeks
Hi Julien,
i agree with you about the AV250 .. I'm watching and support the new FPV racing discipline with my development . I develop VRBrain micro for improve safety of that kind of drone . Actually they use CC3D or KK2 platform without GPS support , so with VRBrain micro you can enjoy to fly in acro but if you have some problem can switch immediatly in stabilize and activate RTL functionality. or if you need assist in the control you can use hybrid loiter :)
About M8 GPS i agree with you we are working on that new module the first prototype will be available i think in 2-3 weeks . We improve the module with HMC5983 as VR GPS Ublox Lea 6 and we are working also to support CAN BUS for improve connection between VR Brain and VR GPS ... keep in touch :)

Roberto,
250 copters are now my favourite size as it's suitable in every situation and especially for FPV.
A new discipline I'd like to come would be FPV racing with this kind of copter, maybe a bit more robust.
BTW, you should try new M8 GPS, seems even more accurate than the one you used
Bests,
Julien
@Julien ,
thanks i'm happy that you like it :)
Great!
Thanks Roberto
Hi Stephen,
1) Yes you can upload to micro brain APM Plane from Mission Planner.
2) Yes the Kalman filter is available on APM code for VR Brain micro.
3) VR Brain micro is a new revision of our VR Brain design . It's based on same processor of PX4 and Pixhawk STM32F4. Our team have a big experience on 32 bit platform infact the first revision of 32 bit APM Code was developed by our team 3 years ago. Our revision of code is available online on official diydrones repository.
