The Low Orbit Helium Assisted Navigator (LOHAN) team is awaiting the arrival on Sunday of Pixhawk wrangler Linus Penzlien, and ahead of some planned tests during his visit we've knocked up a wooden platform to mount the Vulture 2 spaceplane atop a van.

Proper garden shed engineering, and here are a couple of video stills as the aircraft hit 100km/h on a first run.

There's more on the structure and the forthcoming Pixhawk custom mission parameters here.

  • Wow, I really want to see when it's flying on sky.

  • Well the American managed to get to the Moon and they drive on the wrong side of the road...should be a piece of cake for us Brits driving on the correct side.

  • how on earth are we ever going to space by driving the wrong site of the road?

  • Right is... right. :-)

Well you keep driving on the correct side and it will get through eventually. Looking forward to the video.

  • I'll do some video for public consumption during the proper tests, when we'll have the Pixhawk fired up. Yes, I know - I do wish the locals would get on the right side of the road, the right side being the left side, as we all know.
