Hi all, this is my first post here.
For all of you who understand the German language, here is a video of a TV show which I watched this evening.
The topic is Electric Mobility and the first part of the show is about the world's first manned multicopter, which they call "Volokopter".

Here goes a link I've posted here some weeks ago:
The first was really 1922:
@HaiTran, 4 helicopters without tail rotors (plus blimp):

They failed, but other may succeed.
What can't you make a multicopter made up 4 helicopters (without tail rotors)?
Yup thats the volocopter VC1. I got to see the newer VC2 version in person as well as meet the german designer and pilot at Oshkosh on Friday. I see how having many motors could make a safer system incase there are failures however, I personally don't think batteries exist quite yet with enough energy density to make this an efficient means off manned flight. This is not to say I don't wish them success tho!
Looks like the e-volo one to me. I think I even see the ball. But I would not be the first time I've been wrong.
Like to see what happens when he gets the flip of death.
Still need to see what happens when he falls off the chair, head 1st.
A company called Avero built one in 1957
