  • Spoke to the owner of the shop, which is actually a motor parts shop, he confirmed the price of the plane at :SGD190.00 and said the weight was 5kg's . According to Singapore Post Offices most recent EMS rates, SGD115 is for 5KG's going to Australia and New Zealand. Where are you located?

    Ok , Tom, thanks , looking forward to hear some good news, Happy New year.
  • It is Chinese New Year until tomorrow. The shop is close to where I live now. I will go over and talk to them. Shipping small parcels is not cost effective, but at the same time, it is not uncommon for suppliers jack up the price for shipping. Though, there some Cantonese speakers in Singapore, most speak Hokkien. Mandarin is one of four national languages here.

    Hi Rana, that is what I was quoted too and is posted above today afternoon. That could probably be negotiated if some one talks to them directly in Cantonese. Good thing is they now responded and sent us quote too.
    @ Tomtom, that would be great if you could talk to them and see if you can get any better price coz the shipping is almost half the price. thanks for your help.
  • I speak Chinese and bounce around between Shenzhen and Singapore. Should you need help with an inquiry, please let me know, and I will try to help you.
  • Morli,

    The price which the lady gave me on phone was 100SG$ however in mail received from http://www.championhobby.com, the price is different. They said it might be communication gap.

    What they have corrected is as follows;

    Plane model :SGD190.00
    Bank Charges: SGD20.00
    WORLDWIDE AIR PARCEL (Package) SGD80.00
    WORLDWIDE COURIER (Package) SGD115.00
  • I recall the full-size version of this aircraft requires a significant amount of rudder trim (5 to 10 deg.) to fly straight, due to the prop wash on the vertical tail. Therefore, you will probably need to set some throttle-to-rudder mixing if you want to cruise efficiently.

    @Sgt Ric , All
    Apparently the model costs as follows
    Plane model :SGD190.00
    Bank Charges: SGD20.00
    WORLDWIDE AIR PARCEL (Package) SGD80.00
    WORLDWIDE COURIER (Package) SGD115.00

    Total 290.00 SGD or 206 USD including EMS air parcel
    Let me know if need more info

    John, yes electric would not have all those vibrations and messy exhaust , unfortunately 2 x 5000 mAh batt here would cost me more that the engine and plane put together :( , also it seems Me and LiPo don't go well together most of the times, plus if there is no smoke then there is no fun ;). Any way thanks for the info , I am putting together a thunder tiger 60 with similar setup like you for next no noise project, just waiting for batt and Esc( thanks for the info on turnigy 50-55 , how does it perform ?).
    @ Rana , that is great , hope you like it. don't forget to get pusher props to go with it( 11x8 , 12x7)

    I understand the logic behind using gas for longer flight times. But around .60 size you can get pretty good flight times using electric. My man UAV platform at the moment is a .60 size trainer with a Turnigy 50-55 (580kv), 6S lipo and 12x6" prop. RPM and power on this setup is pretty much exactly the same as a normal .60 gasser. At cruising speeds (30-40% throttle) I get 25-30min in a single 6s 5000mah battery and close to an hour using two battery packs. And best of all no vibration, noise and messy exhaust. :)
