  • ok Dan, as i suspected, the calibrations is standard like almost all esc.

now, u have to confirm one thing, after u have put ur tx on, and moved th to full, and powered up esc, it will some beeps, then after 2 sec supposed to give 2 beeps. Now move th to bottom, if u wait after these 2 beeps for another 5 sec, and it gives a beep 56712 then u have gone into programming mode. so hope u not going into programming mode. Beyond this there is nothing u can do specially if all 4 esc r doing it. Oh, and hope when u doing manual calib, u doing one esc at a time. Should work. Also, just a hunch, hope ur end points for throttle ch in Tx are at 100% and Limit points are also at 100%.  Sub trim to zero.

  • Ramesh -

Thanks for your willingness to help.  I'm using the plain yellow ESCs that come with the 3DR arducopter kits.  https://store.diydrones.com/ArduCopter_ESC_20_Amp_p/ac-0004-08.htm

    Datasheet is at http://stuff.storediydrones.com/ESC%20Manual.pdf

  • Dan, hope u r not keeping throttle tooo long at full initially for calibration, cause then it will go into programming mode, normally, one is supposed to bring throttle to idle within a certain number of beeps. So let me see what esc u have.

  • Dan,

send me the link on ur ESCs, let me go through the data sheet and the procedures, normally ESCs are not complicated devices like women.

  • More ESC trouble. I rechecked everything, and I'm still having trouble getting the ESCs to calibrate.  When I connect the ESC directly to the receiver, I get the "123" tone indicating the self test process, but I don't get 3 beeps indicating it recognizes I have a 3s lipo.  If I drop the throttle all the way down I get a long beep (armed) and I can throttle up the motor. Starting with throttle up, I'm unable to put it into programming mode or to calibrate (only get the "123" tone with nothing afterwards).  Any insights most welcome.  BTW, the ESC key on my laptop also does nothing.

    @Bradley,

         You asked:

    >>Can I use Channel 6 to adjust NAV_WP_IMAX when the conditions are windy?

I'm afraid not.  We don't support the adjustment of IMAX values using CH6..it's not difficult to add but normally the IMAX figure is not all that critical.

  • Dan,

at times what happens is the in trying to manually calibrate ESCs they may have gone into programming mode, So best thing to do is look at data sheet of esc, and set it back to factory settings, and then calibrate. I had a  similar problem, so i set the escs  back to factory settings, then calibrated and eveything became ok.

  • Props were correct.  I think the ESC calibration may not have been working because my LiPo was seriously low.  Recharging now to see if that makes any difference

  • Prop rotation was correct using the HobbyKing ESCs (it flew, but was never anything near stable).  The numbering is also correct.  Mistakes on those would explain the initial instability, but wouldn't explain why I can't calibrate the ESCs or get the props to spin at all now...

  • Dan.

also check ur props r on correctly, Clock and counter clock are places correctly.

Drone flying to non visible point

Hi there,I encountered a problem, while flying in auto mode, with approching to point that was not set by trajectory and is not visible after downloading mission from flight controller by Mission Planner. Does anybody encountered similar problem. The situation is that in the middle flight I stopped the UAV and uploaded new mission and after changing to auto mode it starts to fly in some direction. It goes straight to some point, so I assume it's not mechanical problem. I attached the link to…

Will AHRS_ORIENTATION=8 for Arducopter 3.2.1 on APM 2.5 using a traditional Heli

I have been Reading Chris Olsen posts and watching his videos on Arducopter with traditional Helis using a Pixhawk.I have inherited an older Trex 450 heli with the old Align 3G FBL hardware.  The FBL controller appears to be bad.  So I have an old APM 2.5 without a compass or GPS on board.  I just want to replace the failed Align 3G FBL system with the APM.Now I have to mount the APM under the skids on the heli so the APM will be upside down.I have Two questions.1)  Is the AHRS_ORIENTATION=8…
