  • John can you start a thread.. which is much easier to contain and get comments from the community.

  • Please pardon me if I've posted my question in the wrong forum.

I am a complete newbee aspiring to build my very own Tricopter. I would like to mount a camera (GoPro) on board and I suspect I would need a video transmitter and a video receiver if I want to fly FPV (i.e. see where I'm flying). Can someone please explain or point me in the right direction for step by step instructions?

    Many Thanks

    John

  • Hexcopter - power question - JP1 jumper - in or out??

    Configuration -

    APM 2.5

    4S 4000 LiPo

    3DR 915MHz radio

    1200 Sonar

    Ext GPS

Should the jumper be installed or not?

No camera yet but likely to be a pan/tilt affair with GoPro

    thanks

    Question

  • I find with mine If I'm hovering above say 2m when I click alt hold it rises up a few meters then stops. If under 2m it drops down and lands. Its a bit of an art as it doesn't respond rapidly to throttle input. Definitely not how I expected it to act, i.e. lock at the altitude it was it when I flicked the switch. I think perhaps loiter does though as you can still manouver in loiter,
  • Nevermind.. Silly me, i understand ir know. You are implying my throttle stick is not on 40%-60% position?

  • I havent quite understood what you've said. Alt hold is not supposed to keep my quad between a sensor offset?

  • Hi Goncalo *my keyboard doesn't have that c sorry.
    That is probably normal behaviour.

In ALT hold mode the throttle becomes altitude control. So switching modes doesn't guarantee it will hold its current altitude but rather the altitude relavent to the throttle position.

Gaining or loosing altitude in the mode tends to be quite glacial but switching back out of it can be exciting ;-)
  • Quick question for 2.9.1 users. When i toggle altitude hold using inertial navigation my quad slowly drift down(eventually touching the ground). This drift is very slow. What parameter should i look after? Is it possible vibrations are causing this?

  • Please help. I can't get APM to see my LEA-6H. Please see the thread I started here.

I'm still not clear how to use this forum.

  • Hey Reto,

Thanks for the response... I was confused (been known to happen on occasion), but I'm not using my AR7100, but I am using my Spektrum AR7000.

Still having the same issue, no response in the Tx / Rx Calibration page in the Mission Planner.

I have moved this discussion to the discussion boards, and can be found HERE

    Thanks,

    Xomby

Drone flying to non visible point

Hi there,I encountered a problem, while flying in auto mode, with approching to point that was not set by trajectory and is not visible after downloading mission from flight controller by Mission Planner. Does anybody encountered similar problem. The situation is that in the middle flight I stopped the UAV and uploaded new mission and after changing to auto mode it starts to fly in some direction. It goes straight to some point, so I assume it's not mechanical problem. I attached the link to…

Will AHRS_ORIENTATION=8 for Arducopter 3.2.1 on APM 2.5 using a traditional Heli

I have been Reading Chris Olsen posts and watching his videos on Arducopter with traditional Helis using a Pixhawk.I have inherited an older Trex 450 heli with the old Align 3G FBL hardware.  The FBL controller appears to be bad.  So I have an old APM 2.5 without a compass or GPS on board.  I just want to replace the failed Align 3G FBL system with the APM.Now I have to mount the APM under the skids on the heli so the APM will be upside down.I have Two questions.1)  Is the AHRS_ORIENTATION=8…
