  • Hi everyone,

i am looking for data sheets on the parts of the arducopter so that i can access its potential in terms of accuracy and bandwidth. I can't find any info on the

ArduCopter specific Programmable Brushless ESC. Is there a list of component listing used ic's etc?
    Thanks

  • I am trying to set up my telemetry with a couple of 2.4 modules from my MK system. Any advice as I am not getting anywhere fast.

I would also like to evaluate the camera roll function any advice on setting this up?

  • I finally had the balls to fit my arducopter electronics in the latest flying camera mount. Loaded 2.0.33 and followed the simple instructions and before I new it there it was hovering nicely in the office. Thanks guys for a superb effort and thanks also to DIYDrones who sent out a parcel two days ago and it arrived at my door. It would have take three weeks from our friends in Germany and then I would have to find the right post office to collect it..
  • What about this? The motor are air-motor?

  • Ya nigel such is the nature of the Web. for Every 4 people you will get 7 opinions.

When It comes to Futaba VS Spektrum, which one is better? Depends who you ask, and what part of the world they come from. In the end its all marketing splurb.  IMHO they are BOTH excellent choices.

The best is simply to buy the brand that has the best SUPPORT in your particular area.

Michael, also see my post on http://diydrones.ning.com/forum/topics/futaba-t7c-over-spektrum-dx8

  • At the end, I think we need cheap ubiquitous telemetry and control.

    1) Using ZigBee to pilot the drone near to you --> 2.4GHz

    2) Using ZigBee to pilot the drone far from you --> 900Mhz in USA (in Europe 868MHz has an air bps of 24kbps)

    3) Using GPRS: this sounds really good, and sure we (or the someone else) have to pay for that (20 min of GPRS ??).

Anyway, I do not know if we can pilot the drones via XBee radio link...

  • Without wishing to start an argument over which system is best, I would always advise using Futaba over Spektrum or JR.  Clearly there will be people with other points of view but I have had a great deal of experience with 2.4, I own examples of all the major systems except Multiplex, and I would rate Futaba as being the best of a generally good variety of products from the main manufacturers.
  • i am remoting the arducopter with a exceed rc 6ch dial crap and its respective receiver and i gotta say ... WHAT A CRAP  there is no way to program it even a half of the functions the arducopter has to offer. so if you gut a good 600 usd to spend go for a spectrum or futaba right?? any one know what works the best??

gui: the APM autopilot hardware can use any firmware: AC2 (multicopters), APM (airplanes), ArduRover (wheeled vehicles), etc. You choose which firmware you want with the Mission Planner and you can change it at any time. Same hardware, many functions.
  • Does anybody set 6 modes for AC2 with a Futaba?
Moreover, AC2 can host APM or other firmware?

Drone flying to non visible point

Hi there,I encountered a problem, while flying in auto mode, with approching to point that was not set by trajectory and is not visible after downloading mission from flight controller by Mission Planner. Does anybody encountered similar problem. The situation is that in the middle flight I stopped the UAV and uploaded new mission and after changing to auto mode it starts to fly in some direction. It goes straight to some point, so I assume it's not mechanical problem. I attached the link to…

Will AHRS_ORIENTATION=8 for Arducopter 3.2.1 on APM 2.5 using a traditional Heli

I have been Reading Chris Olsen posts and watching his videos on Arducopter with traditional Helis using a Pixhawk.I have inherited an older Trex 450 heli with the old Align 3G FBL hardware.  The FBL controller appears to be bad.  So I have an old APM 2.5 without a compass or GPS on board.  I just want to replace the failed Align 3G FBL system with the APM.Now I have to mount the APM under the skids on the heli so the APM will be upside down.I have Two questions.1)  Is the AHRS_ORIENTATION=8…
