    X5: http://www.lowpricerc.com/product_info.php/xen-epo-fpv-glider-sailp...

Has the details on the recommended setup.

I use seabreeze.com.au for weather and wind forecasts.

I got my ZII direct from Chris K, but I know that Fpv manuals sells them too.  The motor and ESCs and servos I got bundled from

  • Hey guys thanks for a fun time. Even my boys said they had fun...sometimes they aren't as passionate about FPV/UAV like dad is :) We have to do it again soon. Maybe once a month or so would be good, or even on the fly(so to speak)? I'll make a point of checking in before the weekends, say Thursdays or so, to see what's brewing. Was good meeting you all in person.

I'm going to order some X5's from HK for the boys, Hai what motor (kV/prop) are you running on yours? Do you have any recommendations? Also I forgot to ask, where did you get the ZII from, straight from the US? Daddy really needs one,,, ;)

I have the $26 MultiWii from HK which I'll be trying out in them, hopefully it should give them some more confidence with starting FPV.

Cya next time guys! Maybe next time with a little less wind though I nearly lost the Skywalker over the houses when you weren't looking today!! Video dropped out, no spotter and no APM modem link ... oops. Know better next time.

BTW John do you have a link for the antenna you showed us? I'm finally going to put together the Ardustation and I'm looking for something compact. Thx.

Good turn out today, nice weather. 3 Skywalkers soaring with Pelicans was pretty cool.  The location was very good, nice open area for take of and landings, and being able to fly over the river and keeping away from populous areas was good. Looking forward to the next meetup.

  • Great to see you boys today! Thanks for braving the wind and getting the planes where they belong.

22 members, and can't even get a decent turn out when the weather's sunny and low wind.

  • Sorry will not risk certain divorce :-( Apparently the garden needs attention.  I don't see it myself the weeds are only waist high and you can still see the dog.

  • May risk divorce/week in the doghouse and be there at 10:30.

Hi AllPurchased a FlyPro X600 and I am trying to sort out what would be the most suitable camera to use for FPV and some video/stills photography.  The supplier has wired it up for a GoPro 3.  That model is a little out of date but a good camera to start with although if I am going to purchase a camera I would like to only spend on a one of that last for sometime.  I have had a look at the specs for the for what I will be flying it for Sony FDR-X1000V.  The software has stabilisation and some…

UAV Long Range Video

I don't know if you have all seen the write up by CanberraUAV however Andrew replied to a question with this:"Comment by Andrew Tridgell 11 hours ago@Stephen,We ran the Ubiquity radios in normal AirMax mode. We used it to send UDP packets encapsulating a protocol we invented for the event that we call block_xmit. That is a reliable block sending protocol that is particularly good in high packet loss environments. We got about 25% packet loss during the flight, so sending images and data using…

APM2 board: not able to get past radio calibration step. please help.

Would anybody be able to help me with Mission Planner comms to APM2 board? I've hit a hump that is troubling me. I'm not able to get past radio calibration step on new board and gear (Turnigy 9ch). I've got considerable IT experience and some APM1 successes but this prob is a B. Could just be a faulty dataflash card or PC security jamming actions, Be great to hear your thoughts 9453 3580problem described at http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/no-bars-to-calibrate-radio-signal...CheersBrett
