3DRIris APM Planner 2 and Missions

I have the 3DRIris and APM Planner 2 loaded on a Windows laptop.  I draw a simple mission, and am able to "connect" with the UAV.  I can arm the vehicle and click on what looks like a triangle to execute, but nothing happens.  I get some command error.  I have not done any pre-setup or updated firmware.  What am I missing??

    You can go to Flight Data, click AUTO and raise the throttle to start a mission.

      Oh, thanks Bill.  I think I had everything lined up.  Nowhere did I find that info.  So even after arming it, you need to throttle it and then the mission takes over?
