APM 1 quad firmware

I just got a used quad-copter and this is my first one. I got APM1.4 with it and i dont have 2.5. Could anybody direct me how to get quad firmware on it. At least a working old one? I somehow got the 2.68 Arduplane on it using MP but i cant seems to add any other firmwares into it. I need to run a quad with it not a plane.

I manage to get one of the new source code from gethub and i did took out all most all the features but still i cant put it into the bored since i get error saying there is no enough space.

I dont have much money to spend a new control board for now. Please some one help me with this and if can please send me an old quad firmware that works.

Thanks.

  • Hi Hans,

I hear you. I have an APM 1 and it is a great board, but the source code is very difficult to rewrite. I started over and wrote a new firmware that is very simple (about 50 lines of code and 3 library files) and it flies well manually with the gyros and compass, but I am waiting for the weather to improve before trying to make it fly like an autopilot.

  • Hi, Hansaka!

I'm in the same situation as you are but knowing what to do and if you wanna get ti working you must retype the firmware to fit into the memory removing what is not useful to you (in my case), this in case nobody has it already. The one I have is the Arduino Mega.

I don't have it done yet for a matter of time but I hope to have it soon for the joy of making it work. We already have it  working with a firmware of estabilization, return home and follow a rute, but we lost it.

    Hope you can do it.

    Good luck!

    rgds.
