ArduCopter Guided Flight Issues

I flew a Quad with Arudcopter 2.7 and aNeo-6M GPS.

The Four Flight int he guided mode have been totally different from the flight plan I made and uploaded to arducopter.

I desperately need Help flying a Guided mission. I dont have a Telemetry Set yet. Waiting for the shhipment and have lost one complete drone.

I have attached the dataflash Log of the flight and the waypoint file.

It would not take off in GPS guided mode, so i took it to stabilized and engaged Guided. It flew all the way around but not the flight plan. I tried analysing the log file and it shows that the mode were changing which was not commanded.

Any help is highly appreciated as i am new to quad and ardupilot.

  • Greg,

Thanks for the help, I was dumb to not get the modes right. I did a flight again this time with auto mode and it flew well, did a take off and went to waypoint 1, but then crashed. I checked the logs to see that the last mode it crashed was stabilize. Can the flight mode change from auto to stabilize on its own?

    Sascha,

I will do a recailbration of the compass, in a area with no/minimal magnetic interference. I have attached the logs of the last auto flight. can you please check the logs now and tell me what else is needed. I saw a lot of EKF errors, dont know how to fix them.

    • There is just too much wrong with that log for me to know where to begin.

You need to go back to square one and redo everything in your setup.  There is not enough logging to tell all the issues, before next flight set logging to "almost everything".

You have compass issues, not enough sats during that flight, you breached a "fence" setting.  For future tests get the copter into the air and fly in Position Hold first to determine that everything is OK.  Only then from  height of 10 feet or more switch to Auto.

But before any more flights go through all setup steps.  Here is some good info; work through it slowly and understand it all!

      • On it!

Taking it all apart and re do it from scratch.

  • You have really bad compass offsets. Did you do a proper calibration, preferably outside and far away from magnetic influences? No metal screws to mount the compass/APM?

You also had varying satellite performance, although not so bad that it should have messed up your flight path.

  • Did you use Guided mode to attempt to fly a flight plan made in Mission Planner?  Auto mode is what is used to fly predefined flight plans created in MP or DroidPlanner.

Guided mode is for step-by-step control during a flight from a ground control station; each step is manually input by the pilot at time of execution.
