I noticed this as a quick way of overcoming any line interference that might cause issues with any of the MaxSonar sensor.

Not yet, but looks quite sensible to do anyway as there is a lot of noise being pushed out by the ESC's

Yes this is a well known solution to add the filters... also use shielded cables (old mouse cables are good for that)
works great and reduce the noise! without it your Sonar might "work" but the accuracy is not as good as it should be and there will be some spikes in the reading.
