Is it feasible to directly attach XT60's to this unit, similar to how they attach Deans connectors?

If so, how does the curved surface of the XT60 mate?

Yes i have done this, although it was not as easy as i first thought it would be, i had to cut the notch open a little bit to allow the curved section to sit close to the board. Also be aware that you have to flood the solder to fill in to both sides of the pcb as there is a shunt resistor on each side of the board that is doing the measurements. I found the first connection flooded well, but when i tried the next one the solder kept falling out under its own weight, so I ended up adding some short lengths of fine copper wire into the solder pool to act as a filler material and support and this worked. Sorry but I dont have a picture as I have it all wrapped up in sealant in the plane.

Hi Mark,

I've done this successfully as well. It's a bit tricky, but quite possible, and results in a very neat current sensor.

Cheers, Tridge
