I've looked around and haven't seen any other discussions that fit what I'm interested in finding out. Perhaps someone will see this and be able to help.I'm interested is finding out if anyone has attempted to build a UAV capable of homing in on a radio beacon such as an ELT/EPIRB/PLB (121.5MHz) or a practice beacon (121.775MHz). What I'd like to do is have one climb, pick up the signal, home in on it, report back it's GPS location, then RTL.Anyone tried, or know someone who has tried, to home-build a UAV for such a task?

I have a team looking at doing just that. I am a prior UAV operator (8 years) and i have a team of aerospace engineers with me building this, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this dream. Have you been able to make any lead way on this so far?
Very interesting!! I would guess the homing might be a bit tricky, given it will only have one point of emission... Maybe requiring flying a grid pattern like skiers use when searching for an avalanche beacon? Keep us posted, this is a cool idea.

We are on the same boat... I am presently building a drone to do just that :-)
