I'm not new to multi copters but a true newbie to automated flight.  I am interested in aerial cinematography where the division of labor between person and machine is that the autopilot flies a pre-programmed route and the person should frame the shot.

Unless you have a 3rd axis for the gimbal, your autopilot would need to allow you to adjust yaw (and gimbal tilt) from your manual flight controller while in flight.  Do most autopilots allow for this?  or do most of them completely take over the flight?  I would think this would be possible given their ability to fly in a orientation-independent fashion but I'm just checking.  I could also see how it might be complicated for the software to fly a route while constantly adjusting for yaw manual yaw adjustments. 

If it's a feature of certain flight controllers, what is this feature called?
