So basily I don't comprend what fly by wire means? I've flown 2x no problems in stabilize mode, but they say to use fly by wire to test before auto… I don't understand what it dose, how it works, or what to look for to know it works… please help thank. You

  • In stabilize mode the plane will fly level when the stick is neutral and still respond to ail/elev commands when not centered. FBW also does this(stabalize), but instead of stick inputs going directly to the servos(kinda) they tell the autopilot what bank angle and climb/decent rate. If a plane has neutral stability(no dihedral), ail input causes a roll rate. With a regular RC plane, if you hold the stick over it will roll at a rate set by the stick. In FBW mode the stick will set a bank angle for the plane to fly. It is the autopilot controlling the plane's angle and you are telling it the angle. Stabalise is more freedom and responsibility and FBW is like telling your plane what to do and it does it it's self.  I hope this helps.

  • Yes sir, I just can't seem to comprehend "fly by wire" definition?
What's the diff between stab. And fbw?
I know it says fbw says u tell the plane where to go and it Flys a straight, non level line?
That sounds like a contradiction to me?

    Have you checked the manual?
