Hello to you all,
I wanted to share a little of my experience, today was the day I moved the toggle switch from stable to fully autonomous mode on my EZ* with the APM set-up.
I’ve had a few set backs with APM hardware not working correctly, this only made the cocktail of emotions feel even more intense.
The EZ* surged away under my command, a few passes in manual to check all was well, another pass or two in stabilisation mode, all looking good! I pointed the EZ towards the rough direction of the first waypoint, then came the final click of switch, as a great number of thoughts were passing through my mind……
I was extremely focused on where I thought the EZ should start to turn, within a few seconds of where I thought it would be turning, no movement, then just as I was about to reclaim control the roll came in and the EZ headed toward way point 2, then 3, 4 etc. What a way to brighten up a cold and gusty day here!
The first flight was only a short one around a small field close to home with 8 waypoints ending with the EZ in loiter mode, I hope to build in confidence and longer flights in coming weeks.
I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped both on the forum and in customer services to deliver today’s result.
Regards
Martin
