I've been working on mapping some large areas(500+ac per flight). I was curious how many control points others are using on areas this large.
So far i've had decent results with about 10 control points per 500 acres with more if there are extreme terrain differences. Time is money and setting ground control on rugged terrain is where a majority of my time is spent on larger projects. I'm trying to find a medium between accuracy and the least amount of control as possible to perform flights in a timely manner.
What methods are you using to determine the location of your ground control on large areas such as these?
