I've managed to compile the code, but I'm not sure why the Grid option after making a polygon is not available..I'm missing somenthing? The other functions of the software work flawlessly, but the Grid option simply does not appear in the menu.

the grid is written as a plugin, and needs to go into the plugin directory. the c# solution should have all this ready to go however.
It's solved now, but I don't really know how I did it. Thanks a lot for your help!
