Kit for high school?

I am looking for a good kit for high school students. I have looked at the 3D robotics quad for $550. Is there anything else that compares?

    This will be our first quad build. We do participate in first robotics so by building the quad I would hope to add to the following:

    Key Concepts and Take Home Skills:

    Aeronautics/Physics of Flight

    CAD/CAM/Advanced Manufacturing

    Energy/Sustainability

    Electronics/Soldering/Wiring

    Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

    Because this is our first build, I didn't want to do it from scratch.

    It really depends what you want to teach them, you could build your own for perhaps a third of the cost. But if its GIS that's being taught you might want to just get going.
