Dear users,

Iam new in this forum so this is my first post. Hopefully I will bring some answers here later.

Iam using SkyHero 1000 octarotor and with one battery 6S/16000 (Pixhawk) it was behaving verry well. Good stabilisation, good in ALT and Loiter mode, no vibrations...

The complete weight with one battery is arround 8kg. The problem appeared when I added additional 6S/16000 mAH battery which meant additional 2kg weight on copter. Cumulative 10kg now.

The copter flew OK for 7 minutes, tested ALThold and Loiter mode with very slow and minimal corrections.

At the end, I bring the copter closer in the ALThold mode and made just small corrections with throttle up stick to leave it verticaly stabilized. After that copter started to drift slowly forward away (1 m/s), after 30m away from me, I stopped him drifting away but at that moment the copter suddenly started loosing height and crashed. During falling I put the max throttle but the reaction of the motors was to slow to stop from falling. The fall was not so rapid but still enough to broke two arms, props and gimbal.

My question is:

- do I have to make some changes in PIDs or something elsw before adding additional 2k battery on it?

- BTW I did use no cover during test flight. Might that be a reason to confuse Pixhawk baro sensor with the props airflow?

I would appreciate any help. Iam attaching my log as well, hope to find some clues from it.

Kind regards and thank you,

Jure Novak
