New guys comes with an old APM1.4

This is the first time that I try to use an APM1.4 to build a flight control-system.It is just a little hard for me.Because I am lack of Information.The Latest version of APM is 2.6.Maybe I bought a wrong APM.Could someone teach me how to use this board.

    I decide to make a Quadcopter and use APM to control it.

    Regardless, you should go for a Pixhawk because of EKF and logging
