So I am currently interested in drones specifically Quadcopters and a beginner as you could have guessed already. I’m primarily interested in programming but I understand that having a good grasp of the hardware is important. I’m not very familiar with the terminology so I will apologize ahead of time for that. So I’m sure everyone knows about the Parrot AR drones and it looks cool but it seems overpriced and limited to me. Also as I said previously stated I mostly want to code the drone but I feel like I’ll be missing out putting it together and such so buying the separate parts isn't a negative by any means.

Now for specifics.

Stability – obviously don’t want it to be impossible to fly but if it can only fly inside or places with little to no wind it’s not an issue.

Ease of use – if it needs a program that doesn’t some with any of the hardware to make it fly that’s perfectly fine by me. (But obviously the next thing on the list would have to be true.

Programming capabilities – this is very important. I want to be able to program customized controls, automated flight patterns, and so on. (ex. not sure how possible it is but I was thinking about using  microphones to detect how close it is to surroundings to avoid them. Obviously the sounds of the blades would be an issue)

Sturdy – if it were to bump into something at a reasonable speed it wouldn’t completely blow up. (I understand going full speed into anything is a very bad idea and I would be surprised if it didn’t break to some extent)

Now I know I’m probably forgetting something but if this list is absolute rubbish and completely meaning less so be it. I’ll know for next time. Really what I would like from this at the very least is some direction on what to research or which copters/copter companies would be for me. Thank you for reading I know it's long.
