PIC based quadcopter controller

Hello,

I'm trying to build a quad copter controller based on PIC microcontroller and the the controller i'm planning to use is dsPIC33FJ128MC802 but the trouble is i dunno what sensors will be requiring and how will i be interfacing and  programming them what algoritim should i use?? The primary target is to implement a PID control but i'm on my way to work through it...any bright ideas to push me in a direction??
