Hello,
I am making a fishing bait boat and I have been wondering how difficult would be adding a GPS navigation system to it, I don't have any experience with modelling, but I hope you can help me.
I would need a system, that would show me real time position, speed of my boat along with waypoints* on the map and distances beetwen my boat, selected waypoint and home point. If waypoints could have names/descriptions it would be superb, but that is not neccessary. Ideally I would like to have a good accuracy of the gps system, about 1-2m would be ok for me.

*I would need to be able to set up the waypoints while the boat would be in water, based on it's actual position.
At this point I would prefer that it would be steered manually(autopilot would come up later).

After doing some research I found out that I would basically need: apm, gps module for apm, and telemetry kit.

I am thinking about:
- APM 2.8
-GPS NEO-7N
-3DR telemetry kit 915MHz

I would be very grateful if someone could steer me into the right direction with this project.

Are listed items enought to get the system running?

Is APM neccesary in the stage where no autopilot is required?

Is there any ready software that would meet my needs?

We will be using Turnigy 9X controller if it changes anything.

Thanks for any help
