ROI vs POI

Question for all you guys .

How to make ROI point only the cam to the point I choose in missionplaner not cam/nose . since I have three other sources of video onboard , I like to make the gimbal points only to the point I choose in missionplanner without pointing the nose too . Would editing commands_logic.pde line 106 (  // point the copter and camera at a region of interest (ROI) ) to (  // point the camera at a region of interest (ROI) )  the right thing to do ?

or would choosing POI is enough . however I read somewhere that poi works only for 500m radius ?

its my first project ... so excuse the dumb question ..
