Hello,

I've just finished my 3V3 regulated board for sparkfun magnetometer to connect it to the uav dev board 2.

I bought it a long time ago, back then there was no jordi's board, so I'm improvising here. I'd like to know if my 3V3 regulator is capable of generate EMI on the gyros because of them proximity?

Thanks.

  • Hi Carlito, EMI shouldn't be a problem. The one thing you must take into account with this magnetometer is that
there is a strong impulse of current on the VCC lines that occurs during normal operation. It looks like you have a
good sized tantalum capaictor on the output of the 3v3 regulator. I used a low ESR ceramic capacitor of about 10uF,the tantalum is not quite as good might may be good enough. You can reference Jordi's mag schematic to see what capacitor he used. It is well known that the vcc capacitor on the mag board as supplied from sparkfun is not up to the task.
