standard 915mhz for USA vs blackpearl extra whip antennas

This may be the stupidest qustion yet. is it ok to use the extrra whip antennas that are 5.8 ghz, that come withh the black pearl FPV sstem for go pro, on my iris + quad and transmitter???

@Nate,

If you live in the USA your IRIS+ telemetry transmitter is 915MHz unit which will not work well at all with a 5.8GHz antenna and could damage the telemetry transmitter.
