I've been following the forums for a while as a guest user but I am now in a situation where I'm in need of some help and so I turn myself towards this great community.
I need to inspect pipes of 1.5 to 5 meters of radius buried underground at ~10 meters and more. The pipes length are ~150 meters and mostly straight. The operator can go down a manhole with the equipment and start flying the drone from the beginning of the pipe.
I need to film or take pictures with correct lightning in order to see damages and I would like to be able to know at which distance the drone is from the starting point, in order to position observed damages inside the pipe. I don't have any equipment yet but am looking to purchase what is required for this project.
I see many obstacles to making this possible, like communications between the operator and the drone, planning the trajectory of the drone inside the pipe, obstacle avoidance, appropriate lightning, absence of GPS and more.
Can anyone see a way of making this possible and how?
