XBEE Pro 900 DM APM Error

I think I have the XBEE modems communicating correctly (I think), but i get the error below from APM on connect.  Connect, shows getting Params, then the error message below.  And yes the CLI switch is in flight position.

I'd appreciate any advice on setting up the XBEEs.  I went with the DM (mesh) model so I can add an ardustation in the future.

The error message "system.exception: Missed ID expecting 0 got XX"  where XX is a random two digit number (14, 26, etc)

Summary of settings (both sides):

  • VID set to 7FFF
  • HP (hopping channel) is 3
  • RR (MAC retries) is 3
  • BD (baud rate) is 6 (57600)
  • RO (packetization timeout) is 3

Settings above based on RICCARDO KUEBLER's doc XBEE 900 How To, except I changed the baudrate for the APM.  His doc was linked from a DIYD forum post, he uses the digimesh version

  • I fixed it.  After reading up more (gotta love Google) I flashed my DM modems with the DP code, then following the steps here completed the setup.  No problems on first connect attempt with APM Planner.

I'm sure with enough time the DM firmware would work... :-)
