Which is better...and why?
Which is better, to place the rotor blade above or below and obstruction. I would assume above, because thats how they build helicopters, but can someone give me a simplistic answer as to why?

I understand any obstruction of the airflow around the blades is not ideal. But in my case it is inevitable and necessary. My question is it better above or below the blades. There will be a rigid mount platform used to carry stuff lifted by a cop
