The UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies in association with the Commonwealth Club of California are hosting a panel of experts to explore the legal, ethical, policy and innovation questions associated with the deployment of drones in domestic law enforcement and homeland security. The program, entitled: Eyes in the Sky: Drones in Law Enforcement, will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 6-7 pm, at 595 Market Street @ New Montgomery in downtown San Francisco. The program is free and open to the public by advance registration at:

A featured speaker will be California State Senator Alex Padilla (D- San Fernando Valley) who is a leading proponent in the state legislature promoting new legislation to regulate drones in California (SB 15). The other panelists will be:
