Clemson through the Eyes of a Red Epic and Scalett

Clemson University / www.OspreyHD.com from Lee Dashiell | Osprey Production on Vimeo.

Not to long ago my father who is not what I would describe as technology savvy forwarded me a email that he had received from Clemson University we we both had attended Architectural School. I believe my father said something to the effect 'I think you will enjoy this'. After I watched it I was more than impressed and quite shocked of the channel the information was provided.

I quickly reached out to Lee at Osprey Production seeing that he was very close to our Digi-DNA shop in Charleston, SC. Currently we are developing a craft specifically to carry the Red Epic or Scarlett, and excited to get it in the air, so we can make more shots like the above.

  • That is nearly in my backyard! Thanks for posting!

I am in Anderson. The only legislation that was pending for 'drones' was that law enforcement would be required to obtain a search warrant if using a flying camera.  That was last year and I have not check to see what the result of the bill or if it went to a vote.

  • Gary, besides the "Trappy" lawsuit has there been anything moitioned in a federal court sense? I figure I must have miss something however since middle of summer I have heard very little...

  • Private land owned by Clemson, on a land grant by John C. Calhoun predates the FAA. We also hail from the "don't tread on me state" All of the flights were approved in a closed environment, sanctioned by the University and done as donation for the school. If we need case law and legal support we have prepared for that also, feeling that many with political hope would be happy to take the charge.

Have to be careful that's exactly the sort of flight the FAA are after Trappy for (without the tunnel). Great footage.
