Congrats to our friends at OpenROV, who hit their Kickstarter target in the first day! You can get the complete kit for $775. Right now it's just teleoperated, but it has a BeagleBone computer board, so there's lots of potential for sensor and autonomy later.
Comment by Jack Crossfire on July 2, 2012 at 8:04pm They had to do a lot of promoting to get that much.
Comment by Simone Chiaretta on July 3, 2012 at 12:49am That's impressive: I have been following the project since a few months, and it reminds me a lot of the ArduCopter in the early days... just with more funding and more scientific scenarios.
But I guess I'll wait them to complete the design and release everything as open specs... my wife will kill me if I spend 800USD on another geeky toy :)
