Rover - Ground based Inspiration

Having a new project starting and knowing it was going to be ground based I have had to try and sike my self up a bit. Personally seeing the multirotor platform as the phenom when considering what you can do with remote piloted craft, especially with Arducopter. I started searching for the proper inspiration. One time I had a remote controlled gas powered kyoshyo blizzard and when this video appeared well, it gave me with what I was searching.

Looking forward to playing "Rover"

  • Not sure about roboplow but this RoboBlower is very cool.

  • Nice, reminds me of RoboPlow.

  • I think mine had a OS .10 nitro motor, way cool how it would smoke, and even had a reverse gear. I dreamed about it as a kid, seemed like way to much money when staring at the TH catalog mid 80's. I was a skier and thought it would be the ultimate winter RC vehical, the Piston Bully had just taken over as the new Snow Cat so they were something very similar to a hot sports car in my world at the time. Right after 2000 I found them on Ebay for maybe $100 complete kits with shipping. it lasted I think for 2 tanks maybe 3 tanks of nitro until it shredded some type of necessary cheep plastic part. I then bought a big 4 stroke OS 1/4 scale engine that I said I would use as my new engine for a better build but it never happened.

The new project will be electric, however thinking about this and still having the old 4 stokes in a box makes me think I need to build up what I drew up 14 years ago for something to mess with in the snow when I head north for part of the winter, at the same time I think snow will a really soft landing surface for a multirotor.
