Ha I had my long weight at 63, EGDC making coffee and sandwiches on the desk. That most excellent Hunter driver and model maker Chris Golds running the sim.

  • I could do with some left-handed screwdrivers and striped paint whilst they are down there waiting for that weight!

Hope they make the most use of their internship. We have similar work experience for 16 year olds in the UK. My time on a fast jet squadron showed me that I could get along with the engineering aspect just as much as the piloting side of things. And here I am, designing aircraft structures - and dreaming of my UAS business!
  • @Chris just when I think my shed is looking up to snub because I have a Shapoko you have to go and show this guy off!

Who is going to send them to stores for a long wait?

  • 3D Robotics

John, Alex and Sam did the amazing Viper full-size flight simulator, which pretty much earned them lifetime awesomeness points. I'm not saying that sort of epic Making is necessary for a 3DR internship, but it sure doesn't hurt.

Yes, that's a Shapeoko. But it pales next to the million-dollar Mori Seiki CNCs in the next office. By the end of the summer, we'll have them on those:

  • Is that a Shapoko next to that Makerbot? Those guys are quite lucky to have access to that kind of equipment all summer and working with the 3DR team, talk about a summer internship!

  • So jealous!!!!!! how old are they?

  • OK, I'm thinking futureistically, I'm 14 now, and I take it 16 is the age requirement... but this is definitely the sort of thing that I would love to spend my summer doing!!!

I'm only about 2 hours from Berkly, so I can come visit some time....

  • Sam, I don't know how they got here, honestly.
