Ha I had my long weight at 63, EGDC making coffee and sandwiches on the desk. That most excellent Hunter driver and model maker Chris Golds running the sim.
Hope they make the most use of their internship. We have similar work experience for 16 year olds in the UK. My time on a fast jet squadron showed me that I could get along with the engineering aspect just as much as the piloting side of things. And here I am, designing aircraft structures - and dreaming of my UAS business!
Who is going to send them to stores for a long wait?
John, Alex and Sam did the amazing Viper full-size flight simulator, which pretty much earned them lifetime awesomeness points. I'm not saying that sort of epic Making is necessary for a 3DR internship, but it sure doesn't hurt.
Yes, that's a Shapeoko. But it pales next to the million-dollar Mori Seiki CNCs in the next office. By the end of the summer, we'll have them on those:

These guys ate all the peanut-butter filled pretzels within the first two hours of the day :-/
I'm going to have to start stashing snacks around the office like a squirrel.
Congrats to John, Alex, and Sam!!! A Summer internship with 3DR will be extremely beneficial to a career in robotics and great to put on their resumes :)
Work hard but most of all have fun this summer fellas! :) The beautiful thing about this field of study is that someday you can get paid to do something you love and it will never feel like you worked a day in your life.
