Thirty days behind the scenes at 3DR. May 1

Every weekday in May, we’re going to be sharing a glimpse of what we’re working on behind the scenes at 3D Robotics. You’ll see many of our projects, see the facilities, meet the people and maybe get some hints at products coming out soon.  There are more than 70 of us now — in three facilities — and we’re super busy,  so there’s a lot to show!

Today, I’ll start off with a teaser. What do you think the above is and how is it used?

Thanks for sharing this with the Diydrones Community!  I'm looking forward to seeing all the awesome stuff you folks are working on over at 3DR!

@Chris,

Looks like a Belkin USB hub with 4 USB telemetry type transceivers so that you could get telemetry on 4 different id channels. Each transceiver would be a different USB port number and a distinct id number.

Thanks Josh,

Any guesses on what this thing is for?

Could be getting my hopes up, but does that mean that GCS will soon have multi uav support?

Maybe the radio/receivers for a super awesome ground control station or you're putting it on a quad and building a flying WiFi hub :)?  Are those neon green coverings new to 3DR Telemetry Kits? Will they be added to the Kits in the 3DR Store?

Hi, I agree with Tom above, USB hub with 4 telemetry transceivers.

But it could be used for RDF possibly for finding a lost Ardu something or other or as a localizing beacon.

Or it could be to just allow multiple (I'm guessing multicopters) to be tracked or flown in formation simultaneously.
