1943 Righter 2-GS-17 gunnery drone engine runs

After a year of restoration, Righter 2-GS-17, #42-2250 runs. Six hp @ 3800 rpm, 277 cc, 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, 26 in. diameter contra-props, approx. 25 lbs weight, retrofitted motorcycle dual 

coil on 12V. Debuted at Oshkosh, Aug. 2, 2013.

That's beautiful! Six HP? That must have been one slow drone!

Actually, the 6 HP drove the 108 lb (49 kg)  147 inch (3.73 m) wingspan, flat bottom airfoil with struts to 85 mph (137 km/hr), which is pretty decent. Documents say a drone this size flying 85 mph at 200 yards nicely replicates the look of a full size aircraft flying 250-300 mph at 500 yards distance.
