2 motors go stronger on first battery connection

I've got a strange issue with ardupirates NG,

when i first connect the battery today to the arducopter,

then trying to takeoff it pulls to a direction very strong, like if the front and left motors are running stronger without touching the stick !

i didn't takeoff with that situation,

i disconnected the battery, and reconnected after 3 seconds, then everything worked OK and the motors all took off vertically.

any possible explanation and way to solve this?

  • I think i got it - it maybe wasnt flat.

i connected the copter to configurator and layed it a bit on te side,

when increasing throttle i saw the down motor got higher throttle.

when it was leveled, all motors got same throttle on the configurator...

i'll know if it is solved next time i do a real flight....

  • Check your transmitter for trim drift.
Mine (Turnigy 9X, but i've experienced it with JR/Graupner too) has a noticeable temperature-related drift on some of the channels.

I.e. when the transmitter has just been started and is still "cold", i'll require one set of trim values to get things centered, while with it "warm" it requires completely different ones.
  • did you move arducopter while startup? maybe you corrupted the gyro calibration....
