Been tasked at work to look at aircraft platforms capable of 30 minute flights with a 500g payload for a VLOS flight-trial.
What is available at the top-end amateur / low-end commercial level? I am aiming to suggest platforms ranging in cost from under £1k, 1-2k and up to £5k.
Both fixed wing or multirotor solutions solutions considered.
Rediculous time-constraints involved here so off-the-shelf is likely to be a priority.
How much do microdrone quad's sell for?

Do you require VTOL or is there room to land a fixed wing airplane?
Important factors are; legality of operation in proposed area of use, likely wind strengths, degree of pilot skills available,portability of airframe and necessary anciliary equipment.
